🌍 Focusing on people and the environment – EINS A provides sustainable systems for the building envelope. To this end, there is the enhanced, highly thermally insulated EINS A Window Series, which has been awarded with #GreenAward Certification. Its unique system components are setting new standards for the industry: turn/tilt window doors with zero-level threshold for secure ease of access in the patio area, minimal operating forces for maximum user comfort and energy self-sufficient sensor which monitors the opening status of windows.

It is generally assumed that Sinan was born in the year 1490. It is also assumed that he spent his youth in the village of Agirnas near Kayseri until conscription (devsirme) to the "masters of carpenters". At age 22, Sinan is then recruited into the Corps of Ottoman Standing Troops (Janissary). During this military tour he travels widely throughout the empire, as far as Baghdad, Damascus, Persia and Egypt. In his own words he informs us about his observations: The few prominent projects presented here represent only a small part of this great architect's voluminous design and construction accomplishments throughout the Empire. It is believed that Sinan's total works encompass over 360 structures which included 84 major mosques, 51 small mosques (mescit), 57 religious schools (medreses), 7 seminaries, 22 mausoleums (turbe) 17 care facility,

Another one from the visit to Waterloo the other week. This is the CIGI building by @kpmbarch, 2011. Its accolades include a Governor General Award and an @oaarchitects Award. This was quite an impressive block for architecture (across the street from the Perimeter Institute and the Clay and Glass Gallery), though it was a shame we couldn't go inside.
