Just follow the Beach Road.
I headed up to the 4x4 area with a couple of members from our local CNPA chapter this past weekend. From the time we pulled out on the beach at 5:45am we were greeted by scenes like this for the next 5 hours. One of those days where horses seemed to be everywhere...truly a special day that I’ll remember for quite some time!
U.S. Coast Guard Station No. 166
A Forgotten Time - I took a ride up the beach on a cool afternoon last month and searched for horses for almost an hour before I came across this lone stallion in front of the Wash Woods Coast Guard Station. As I edited the photo I thought black and white was the perfect fit as it was a cool overcast day with an onshore wind. After completing the edit I really like to think this is the way it could have looked 100 years ago at Station 166, when everything on the Outer Banks was wild and free!
If you’re going to fly a kite make sure it’s an awesome kite! 👍
Beautiful end to the day...I sure love where I live! 🌈
So peaceful this evening...Happy Earth Day from the Outer Banks!
After looking at the forecast I decided to head inland yesterday. I intercepted one Tornado Warned Storm as cells developed out ahead of the main squall line. Captured it crossing NC Route 1109 just about a half mile in front or me near Pinetops, NC. I have seen photos of confirmed damage further south from this storm, but no confirmed tornado reports from the NWS yet.
Love it when a storm lingers just offshore and puts on a show like this! Still patiently waiting for the first storms of the season...all eyes on Friday 🤞
Watching storms begin to pop in WNC...hope today is the day!
Exploring with my boy...always a good time!
Nice shelf cloud approaching Hatteras Village September 28, 2018...it’s been a long tough winter for my family, and I haven’t been shooting a lot...so I’m really looking forward to warmer days and the upcoming storm season!
